'I love to haggle!'
The sound of Yorkshire and Arabic haggling drift across the Nile. Pat's husband is more interested in our mutual connection with Sheffield than shopping. Did I know that the British Open Barber's Shop Quartet Champions hail from Sheffield?
I'm more worried about tonight's fancy-dress party at which everyone is required to 'do a turn', and I use the quiet time after the others have gone off to Edfu to learn the Percy Bysshe Shelley poem 'Ozymandias':
I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert . . .
