Sahara - Djenné, Mali
We found a cargo boat, the Pagou Manpagu, better known to the crew as ‘the slave ship’, to take us part of the way to Timbuktu. It docked regularly near Bozo villages along the river, to pick up and drop off passengers and supplies.
