The boat was the most user-unfriendly craft I’d ever been on; it was impossible to move more than just a few inches without bumping your head or running into something sharp. As it was
created to carry cargo, and there was none that day, all the proportions of the hull seemed to be entirely wrong for human activities. Except for these families, on the way home
to their villages, who were quite happy to turn the empty, leaky bottom into their kitchen and dining room.
