Sahara - Timbuktu, Mali
We followed the large herd of goats from the nomad encampment
on the outskirts of Timbuktu into the desert. A couple of miles out of town, we had our first sighting of a salt caravan emerging from the interior. The herd and the camel train crossed paths and the owners exchanged greetings before disappearing in opposite directions. Leaving an empty desert full of hoof prints and droppings.
