Sahara - Ingal, Niger
very little time was spent at the Cure Salée, due to scheduling difficulties, and we missed the big event of the festival, the long-distance camel race. Hundreds of racing camels from all the different tribes took part in the endurance contest, which is not unlike the Paris-Dakar Rally, only more environmentally friendly. We did manage to catch a glimpse of some of the camels in competition during the opening parade.
