Sahara - Tobruk, Libya

For eight months, between April and December 1941, the Desert Rats clung on to the port of Tobruk despite overwhelming odds, keeping open a vital supply line for the Allies in their struggle for control of Egypt and the Suez Canal. Sixty years later, the few survivors of the epic battle still well enough to travel returned one last time for a memorial service at the Acroma-Knightsbridge Cemetery.
