Johnny, Mike can say anything he wants. Coz I like him :)

The hight winds have settled down a lot today but we have to be very careful because the trees are very brittle (due to the drought) and will have weakened falling branches for weeks to come.

Sounds like a pretty nasty event - glad to hear you're all OK.

Poor old Hobart copped a battering last night as well - a gust of 176kph (109mph) recorded by the CSIRO on the eastside of the Derwent River. That's equivalent to a Category 3 cyclone!

Spring brings tornadoes to the southern US, but here in CT, we don't usually get severe weather. The last hurricane was in 1990, though we had a tornado about 20 miles away in 1988. Other than that and the occasional loud thunderstorm, it's pretty quiet here.
