mrsthing: fox hunting was abolished in Britain but the fox hunting fraternity were incensed at the ban,so hunts still take place because the police have other things to do besides prosecute fox hunters.
I agree with you that bull fighting should be abolished. I'm not sure the Pamplona bulls are just out for air and exercise. This bull running started because the bulls were being led through the narrow streets of Pamplona to be transferred to the main bullring for the corrida and locals decided to tag along with them.

Bull fighting is unfortunately entrenched in most of the main city bull rings in Spain such as Madrid,Albacete,Granada,Cordoba,Valencia,Murcia,Badajoz,Jerez,Cadiz,Ronda,Almeria,Jaen,--but there is encouraging news from Catalonia where 69 provincial town halls have abolished the bullfights and so there is only remaining corridas in the main 'Monumental' Ring in the city of Barcelona. The animal rights group 'Prou' in Catalunya has collected 180,169 signatures against bull running and bull fighting in Catalunya.

The Pamplona bulls are being run to the arena to be killed. IF they were just being let out for an organized stampede back to the barn, I'd consider running with them. Since they're not, I'll stay home and not risk injuring my back.

stupidity knows no limits..is proven once again when thousands of crazies turned out to prove how "tough" they are by submitting to a gruelling test like the kind that army recruits are put through to "toughen" them up for combat duties. The event was held at the charmingly-named [and slightly Dickensian] "Mr.Mouse Farm For Unfortunates" [inviting the question: "Are you Man or Mouse??"] in Perton, near Wolverhampton,South Staffordshire,UK. Anyone determined (or stupid) enough to apply for next year's contest can do so by contacting the website below.
