Damn, someone beat me to this thread. :) Actually I had the idea of starting this very thread after remembering hearing "Sun King" on Cori's site... that was the first MP site I ever visited... *reminisces*

The songs that remind me of Michael (to annoyingly start up this thread again :\ lol) are the new Kylie Minogue songs, 'cos I was listening to the samples of them on her website while reading the online "Sahara" book... my favs are Red Blooded Woman, Chocolate and Someday.

Dunno why, though. ?

Desert Rose!!! I think that one reminds me as it came out about the same time as Sahara, but any of the MPFC songs will do it! Back to Vicky's comment if I see judges now on the telly I always giggle thinking of Michael and Erics sketch - its definately one of the best!
Clare :)

LOL man, that's cool, I never thought of that, I might put that CD on (for those who don't know what song that is, that's a Sting song, but being cultured people I'm sure you all know..... if it is the same song.... lol anyway!) I like the singer, dunno what they call them, but I like that style of music... another soundtrack that reminds me of Sahara is the soundtrack on the PS2 game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - I reckon if Sahara had a rockier soundtrack it might have pulled a younger generation in... suggestions for post-Himalaya production perhaps? Lol well if they do consider it they should give me a call, I'd be more than happy to be their musical director =D

In one of Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books there is a song about what a drag interstellar teleportation is, the chorus goes something like this:

Take me apart, take me apart
Oh what a way to go
But if you have to take me apart to get there
Then I don't want to know...

I hope this isn't copyright infringement.

And of course there is the Louis Armstrong song 'What A Wonderful World' which is lovely.

And I am not being original here but I have to mention The Lumberjack Song:

I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK
I sleep all night and I work all day

What a statement of job satisfaction. LOL :)

Not a song. But music.

My "Lawrence of Arabia" soundtrack, by Maurice Jarre.

Conjures up Sahara anyway ;)

This Love by Maroon 5 - the chord changes in the verses seem to bring out the dark side of Michael for some reason, I loaded the home page up just before while the song was playing and I dunno, something just stood out.

Must've been the dark apparel in the home page shot.

Maybe I'm just strange... =D

I have to say that the beggining of the Urak-Hai song on the "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" soundtrack reminds me of michael because the song starts off the Three Hunters scene on the DVD, and the Three Hunters (Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli), are chasing the enemie and travelling, the same as what Michael does!

The Littlest Hobo theme (1979 version)

Infact the lyrics are my mottoe :)

Here they are (i have the song on Mp3)

"There's a voice that keeps on calling me
Down the road is where I'll always be
Every stop I make, I'll make a new friend
Can't stay for long, just turn around and I'm gone again.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll want settle down,
Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

Down this road, that never seems to end,
Where new adventure, lies just around the bend.

So if you want to join me for a while
Just grab your hat, come travel light - that's hobo style.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll want settle down,
Until tomorrow, the whole world is my home.

So if you want to join me for a while
Just grab your hat, come travel light
That's hobo style.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll want settle down,
Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on".
