I happen to agree with Godfather. By giving the troll(s) any sort of attention you are giving them the incentive to continue with their trollish ways. I know people have heard this a thousand times before but the best way to deal with the trolls is to just ignore them. Although this is a fun way to basically take the mick out of the troll(s) it keeps all troll related posts at the top of the boards, which Iím sure most people do not want.

Fine - if that's what you think let's stop the story then.

I just thought it was a more intelligent way of dealing with trollism instead of responding directly.

But if it's the general opinion I for one will not start a new thread about this story.

I understand that we shall stop encouraging the trolls, but related to other subjects I still stand by what I said about how annoying it is when people always tell you what they think. If something I post bore you leave it be and let it die in peace.

blah, blah, blah

Isn't that the beauty of an open forum,Kristine?

Verne, i take your point but this is just a bit of light-hearted fun and less of a spotlight on trolls than an outlet for the creativity of some of our palinites. Plus, it is a passive way to make fun of trolls and show those pathetic people for what they are without being aggressive. I'm sure this thread will die eventually as all threads must, however for the time being I dont see that there is any problem with having it as it is something amusing to look at and can cheer up the people who have been victimized by trolls.

Godfather, what I meant was: it's annoying when some people complain about everything just for the sake of complaining and always has a negative attitude towards different subjects. If people start a debate and discuss things that's a totally different matter - do you get my drift?

And that is my final remark on this subject.

ignore him kristine, some of us enjoy the story even though it does keep trolism to the fore!
Bruce.

Re: The story of a troll 2 by Ello on 6 July 2005 1:05pm

can we name him? or does he have no personality, thus no need of a name? without wishing to offen anyone who may end up sharing the troll's name, lets have a go. Quentin? hmmmm...

Bruce, you really are a nice guy ;)
I was beginning to think about totally quitting Palins travels because of all the grumbling. Nice to know that someone supports you :)

Ello I think it's rather good idea, but I'm afraid that after a while the name will become synonymous with trolls.

If we do change the name what about Herbert it already has a double meaning?

Don't go Kristine, thats just what some people want. What about Tarquin for the name of the troll? It suits the trolls nature, well I think it does.
Bruce.
