Rain is a giver of life

We can go without food for weeks...we can eat wood and grass and bugs and lichen if we need to. We can live without entertainment...us male humans are built with the inherent capacity of amusing ourselves. We can live without machines...it just takes longer to do the work. We can live without other men...we just need to soften our character a bit.
We cannot, however, live without women or rain. Women give us a reason and rain, a drink.
The Gods bleed for us.

Can relate Martin, it's about 20 degrees here and we've had a little rain this week and supposedly more tonight. Total heaven! |

we suffer here in the southern hemisphere. soo much heat can get annoying, as much as all the "pale" tourists enjoy it.
so whats up with your cricket team?
:(
i'd hate for south africa to become the big cricketing bullies!!! |

We had a dry spell for a couple of days and because of it I decided yesterday evening I had to finish some necessary dry repairs to the bodywork of the car before it started raining. It has been raining all day here in Scotland - the weather forecast was correct. |

Rain is a part of life here on Northern Vancouver Island. We are at the opposite end of the spectrum from you, Martin, and yourself, Karen. According to the last statistics I saw this area gets 128 cm a year, that's 50 inches or 4'2". It tends to rain a lot in the winter here.
Summers are fabulous here but winter rain gets to some people. Me...I stroke up a big fire in the woodstove, go out and get cold and wet. When I come home it is so-o-o-o nice to be warm and dry.
I get a little itchy this time of year...it must be the lime I apply to my armpits to keep the moss down...

pete i'd need to be there 20 years before i get tired of the rain. rain isn't depressing, its just a little restricting but thats ok because i dont wanna have much more to do than aply ample amounts of lime to all western facing body parts and lay down by the fire with a good book next to a fire. i could live with that.
Ken im sorry that that happens. it's a pity these things always happen to people. last winter we decided to try a very precarious operation in which we change the colours of our outside walkways using cemcrete. you need 2 days dry weather. it never ever rains in winter here.
it rained
now our floors look like dog sick and we're too scared to fix them 'cause it's "supposedly" rainy season.
