The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Random Musings by Krunch on 16 September 2007 12:53am
Was just watching Palin on Parkinson (a chat show for non UK folk), during the break thought I would search for a dedicated site to the man himself.. Sure enough I found it!

Ive pretty much grown up with Palins travel programmes, sadly missing out on his Monty Python antics, though of course Ive since bought the DVD collection! In an age of Playstations, computers etc Palins shows/books have been the only thing Ive dropped everything to watch/read, quite an achievement friends and family will tell you! A true legend.. How many others have a comet named after them?! (Just checked wikipedia.. rather a lot of people it seems!)

I for one will be tuning in tomorow night, knowing it will be another excellent series.

Welcome Krunch. I watched Parky and enjoyed the snippets from the show - the leeches were a little revolting!!
Am looking forward to the show tonight and also looking forward to reading more posts from you.

Glad, Krunch, to say Hello to another fan. Yes, I watched Parky too: I thought Our Man came out of it very well indeed. I thought it significant that he was on first: he was obviously best at relating to the others with witty comments etc. as they came on in turn. And didn't Frostie look doddery! Michael looked so fit and gleaming-well in comparison, and he can only be a few years younger.

I have just looked it up and DF is 68 - in fact I checked a couple of sites because I thought they'd got it wrong! I am shocked - I thought he must be about 90! He had the look of an nonegenarian if you see what I mean.

He was born April 6th 1938, whereas our hero was born as we all know 5th May 1943 so DF is only 5 years older.

As a child I loved Frost Report and TW3 -though of course I expect some of the satire must have gone over my head.

1 hour and 40 minutes to go.. I am on tenterhooks!

Thank you for your wonderful welcome messages, nice to talk to like minded people.

I will be intrested to see whether in this new series Palin visits some of the places he visited in his previous travels, it would be very intresting to see a comparison during and after communism. For instance if I remember correctly he visited Estonia in Pole To Pole? And I believe he visits Estonia in the new series. (I make it 1 hour 35 minutes to go now *chews finger nails*!)

The subject matter of Frosts interview was slightly more.. tense(the water gate scandel), maybe that was why he didnt come off quite as well.. Or 5 years could just have made all the diffrence...

Round of applause for Palins appearance either way! ; D

(1 hour and 28 minutes!)
