Poor Yerbie Caught Fire. by tucsonmike on 26 December 2007 2:13am

He went too close to a candle and his fur caught fire briefly. His fur was singed and otherwise the only thing hurt is his pride.

Poor kitty! I'm glad to hear he wasn't injured. Must have been scared out of his tiny little mind, though.

Funny thing about mammals--losing hair is a big deal for most of us. Probably has something to do with being recognized by others.

How many lives left ? I've never had cats as pets but have proudly become a friend of my neighbour's cat recently. It is really timid and it sit's on the wall seperating our houses quite often. For years I have came home from the nightshift and tried to pet it. It always backed away and I always tried not to frighten it. Recently though she has allowed me to stroke her and a couple of weeks ago she was sitting on my doorstep enjoying the winter sun. I opened the door, half expecting her to scarper but she stayed and rolled about on my drive on her back and nuzzled her head into my hand.
Maybe that was my neighbour's wife. ;)

He's OK, didn't lose any lives, just very hurt pride.

This is why I have dogs. You can keep dogs off the hot stove and away from high-sitting candles and breakables.

I've heard that if a cat is on fire, running fast enough will extinguish the flames. Is that true, Mike?

Stop, drop, and Lounge

No, it's just better fun to watch Pete. ;)

Johnny, I ought to bonk you one, that is my little buddy you are being disrespectful to!

Pete, actually, his jumping off the counter was enough to put the flame out. Silly cat.
