Been listening to some CD pressies. by johnnythemonkey on 26 December 2007 6:21am

Christina bought me some Eric Clapton stuff and Van Morrison and Marianne bought me Arctic Monkeys ( I suppose she wants to listen to it in my car ! ).
Christina bought me several gifts ( bless her ), including " New Europe ", which I've been too lazy to purchase.

Amongst other gifts (Spurs mug and poster, racing grannies and grandads, motorbike grandads etc etc) I had Great Railway Journeys and the New Europe DVD and best of all the limited edition U2 dvd/CD (re-released Joshua Tree) !! Yay!!!

Oh and I also had a new Hard Rock Cafe T-shirt (New York) from our son and his fiancee.

I collect them, and currently have Sharm-El Sheikh; Amsterdam, Orlando, and 2 more I forget. And New York now.

I got a digital camera! My old Minolta SLR died years ago, and what with raising Hurricane Alexandra (aka, my daughter), I never got around to fixing it. I can take pictures again--YAYYYY! I used to be a pretty good landscape photographer. I'll have to get used to the digital first, but my husband's and daughter's cameras take gorgeous pictures, and what with the software and all, I can adjust focus and color and contrast if the pictures don't come out perfectly. Happy me!

I also got Michael's diaries, which I started to devour after I finished playing with my camera. I'll probably intersperse bits of the diaries with other books I got and books leftover from years past that I still haven't read. So many books, so little time!

As one of his many pressies I got my husband a digital photo frame keyring.

Sadly the disc with the drive on is only compatible with Windows 98 or Apple Mac and we have Windows XP so I couldn't download any photos onto it!! And neither can he. :-(

I have contacted the sellers to ask if they will send a driver compatible with XP - fingers crossed!!

I got the diaries, too. He sounds like such a nice person! And now I don't feel guilty about not spilling my guts in my diary. It's just as fun to read about stuff I did without all the intense soul-searching.

Windows 98? Didn't that die with the dinosaurs?

It's true, mrsthing. Don't you love reading about his adorable little children? He seems like such a great father. And I do enjoy reading his views on the political and other current events going on in England at the time.

I haven't gotten very far yet. I'm a very slow reader, particularly when I'm reading for fun. But I love the kind, methodical, imaginative voice. Charming.
