Can Anyone Here Do The Job of President?! by tucsonmike on 25 July 2008 2:38pm

I have paraphrased a quote from a famous baseball manager named Casey Stengel.
All I really want to hear is the following:
1. Improved energy sources.
2. What stimuli will be presented to help the economy?
3. When are we getting out of Iraq, which was a terrible mistake and is draining us, (but concentrate with others on Afghanistan where the real baddies are).
4. What is going to be done to improve our health care system?

Those are a few of my favorite things.
Bluntly, I don't think any of the major candidates are up to the job. I have no favorites here.

Face it folks, we are in a recession and @ the rate we are going, possibly headed for a depression. We have the wrong candidates for the wrong time.

I reckon
1.Investigate the potential of recycled poo. There's plenty of it.
2.Probably backyard generators and human poo.Cars that run on methane.
3.When we do not rely on oil supplies but explore human poo.
4.Can't answer that,I live in England.

For a minute I thought you were going to burst into song, Mike - 'These are a few of my favourite things'.....

If I was feeling better than I do this morning I would try and do a parody of the song using the 'job description' of the US President!!!

Anyone else up for it? Pete - are you there?

:p

I'm the 'president' of Palins Travels Big Green Joke Book. Is that a good enough qualification for the job?

LOL! Ken. It is as good a qualification as any.
I don't sing Anne. People throw things @ me.

Peripatetically: with the greatest of respect, I resent your remark that the presidential contenders, John Mc,Cain, and Barack Obama, "both suck.." What grounds do you have for contending this?

As you can see, I don't usually chime in on political conversations. It's all too volatile a subject. Don't know why I did so this time. Let's just say.... we agree to disagree on what we think of them this candidacy.

Gloria Borger in U.S. News had a great article about what McCain needs to do for strategy.I posted on my blog a my own strategy thing that is like a boxing manager with McCain as fighter between rounds. Picture the Rocky movies.

These are a few of my favourite things: to pay off my house and hear the birds sing. I like to have cash to spend on some toys but burning gas is one of my joys. I know I eat more than two men should, but I've got the money and...anyone would. I like to walk to the market to buy, a head of lettuce that's travelled 100 times more than I. The pineapple I eat grew juicy and sweet, on an island so fair it takes 1000 gallons to get there.

These are a few of my favourite things: Health care for all, to pay for it is easy. Combat for oil makes me feel queasy. I like to hear of the earning of money, waste of the tax dollar is not even funny. I'd like to go back to leisure and grace, have equality for all
regardless of race.

Let's come together, in spirit and harmony; let everyone live even if they look funny. I'd like vehicles to use without cost to the world, and please, let us leave our bigot flags furled.

Life in the fresh air is my favourite thing. Vote for me now and we'll hear peace bells ring.
