The Democratic Convention by sighthound on 26 August 2008 5:38am

I am very proud of my country right now. Been a long time since I could say that....

Have I missed something ?

I watched last night. Michelle Obama's speech was great. I back the Democratic platform, but still wavering on the candidate. Elaine greeted me with "you will change your mind." I hate being this indecisive.

And the reason for Michelle Obama giving a speech ?

Re: The Democratic Convention by sighthound on 26 August 2008 8:30pm

To get her husband elected, johnny. It was the opening day of the Democratic Convention.

There was hardly a dry eye in the house when Ted Kennedy, against the advice of his doctors, gave a rousing speech that reminded us all of how good the Democratic Party can be sometimes and promised that he WOULD be back in January to watch Obama be sworn in as Pres and to continue the fight to make health care a right for everyone and not just a privilege for the rich.

Sounds inspiring stuff: it's good to be moved by it, I think. Shows you're still in there, believing & standing up for it.

Joe Biden? Any thoughts,anyone?
(Mike, Elaine will bring you back into the fold yet!)

Michelle Obama sounds such a good person- she seems the equal of him in every way, really.A true & good partnership, theirs (I hope!)

Oh, BTW Mike, do you know how many houses you have...? :)

I only have one house. At least that's what I've been telling insurance adjusters all week! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I will be very excited when we get PAST the Kennedy Royal Family / Clinton Royal Family crapola. I seem to remember being taught in grade school that our nation is predicated on having NO royal families to be forced to venerate.

Anyway, we have serious business in this country like, you know, the WAR. I wouldn't mind if the Convention was more of a solemn if not angry call to action, rather than a feel-good revival meeting.

MAYBE that's what they're saving for Sen. Obama to do.

I know, nobody asked my opinion!

Only one house Linda, all I can afford, LOL!
Biden is actually a good choice. Then again, we shall see.

Thank you Red - may I call you Red?! - for the post but I for one am a little wary of emailing someone I do not know. For all I know you could be googlebot yourself, and if so my email addy could be very useful to you in your sick life.

If you are genuine and above board I apologise, but you can see my point I hope.
