I believe a number of Palinites have formed a splinter group ( clique ) on Facebook.
I've been invited to join but of course, I would never join any club that would have the like of me as a member. (Thanks Groucho)

A child of 5 would understand this. Send someone to fetch a child of 5...

Have you been invited to join the GARRICK CLUB yet?

I read an article in my fiance's PC Pro magazine that has a demonstration of how easy it i to get your personal nicked if you are a member of things like facebook. I am just telling you this as a friendly warning of what can happen. It was an appalling example. Within a day, this guy had managed to steal his friends name, address, bank, and insurance details(with his permission)just to show how easy it can be done.I've not been on Facebook since. The only ones I use now are this site and Yahoo, as I need that for my mail anyway. Take care.

Terry, if anyone was foolish enough to steal my identity, they would inherit a lot of debt and quite a few enemies. :)

Hmmm...I am not on Facebook because of the legal document they insist valid should you be using Facebook, were using Facebook or...sorry. I don't remember exactly and I can't be bothered to look for it, but a circumstance that could occur innocently. That is the only example I can think of specifically, but it differed from all the other legal instruments software providers tend to use.

Different enough that it requires extensive scrutiny before I feel I should 'sign' it. I don't trust my legal abilities enough to take a chance, so I'm on the outside and don't care what is in.

Above is the reason I haven't used Facebook. Seriously, I'd like to have contact with people I don't remember now and probably didn't have any reason to when I apparently knew them.

I barely have time to do what I do, have regular virtual contact with real freinds, and talk to people I know I like.

I understood quite well. I never get involved in those kinds of web sites. I am very careful about ID theft. I don't even like to buy anything off the internet This is the only web site I use anymore where personal details need to be given. A word to the wise is all you can offer, Pete. That's a good reminder.

Someone talked me into getting a Facebook account, and now she never messages me anymore. So I haven't been on in ages. I made my profile unavailable to anyone except people to whom I've given express permission. I don't like the idea of total strangers accessing my personal information. My profile is pretty scanty, though--I don't know why anyone would put all their personal information online, anyway.

I find Facebook confusing and difficult to navigate. And there's no bloody use for it, except to add applications for playing games--but the fine print says that the applications are third party things that can access your profile (and then you start getting spam in your email) and your friends' profiles. So I've pretty much dropped it.

I use Twitter now. It's minimalistic, but it's enough. It's not like I have a huge pile of friends, anyway.

I already spend too much time on the computer. But it's my only social outlet right now, so it's a two-edged sword. I try to keep things in balance.
