Baseball on a Sunday Afternoon. by tucsonmike on 23 March 2009 7:34pm

It was too nice to sit home and write, so I walked the 1.9 miles from my house to Hi Corbett Field to see the Colorado Rockies-Cleveland Indians Spring Training game.
It was 25C (77F) and breezy, dry, I got some sun, people in the stands were nice, the women were gorgeous and I got in for free...
It was relaxing and calming to sit in the stands.

Oh, Tuscon! I LOVE this time of year! I'm still trying to work out whether I can get to the new Mets stadium this year. $$$$$$*%!@!!

Free? Are those games always free out west? Spring training games in Florida cost a little bit. Nonetheless, glad you had such a great time. Only two weeks to go! Whoopeeeee. I am so anxious!

I wish Patty lol! I was on the ticket line and a woman offered me her other ticket. They were given to them by Davis Monthan Air Force Base and her husband was home sick.

Tell me, Mikey, who were you rooting for?

Actually, no one. It is Spring Training and neither team was playing the Diamondbacks, Mets, or Red Sox.

Many people come here for Spring Training on vacation. There were people from Colorado and Ohio rooting for their respective teams.

It's a nice way to spend a winter vacation! A lot of people travel to Florida and make the circuit to as many training camps as time allows. It's an easy, fun and a great way to get autographs and meet players you ordinarily have trouble seeing up close once the season really begins. And between games, there is the beach. Larry and I stopped by an O's game a few hours before a flight home after being on hols with the Donnellys, our fellow Scottish Palinite. I really enjoyed it!
