Your (Good) Opinion Please by notquitenglish on 18 May 2003 8:27pm

I've chosen a title for my new book.
It is (drum roll please)
"PIRATE HUMOUR"
(Ta-dah)
Problem is, no plot yet. But the main characters are named Virgil (female) and Charlie Kile (male, and surname pronounced "Kill") So what do you think? Be honest, as long as it'll spare my feelings...

I'm working on it... problem being I'm also supposed to be working on at least three others, and I'm the world's greatest procrastinator... one of them anyway.

Sounds interesting Notquitenglish:) Hey if you need some inspiration, check out some songs from the singer Tom Waits. a good friend of mine introduced me to Tom Waits's music one day on a car ride. He does such funny Pirate songs. He uses pirate humor. very funny. I can't think of the exact album that has one of my fav songs, but you can check some of them out. he's pretty twisted but very funny with his music. not stupid funny like weird al yankovic but more odd dark weird funny. His music is hard to explain but it is very amusing and would definitely be something to be inspired to write your book. lol! Tom Waits does the best Pirate songs, so far that i know of. although he does other songs not pirate related, but the ones he does is very good. lol!
Good luck writing! I wish you lots of luck! I wish i had the talent to write like an author! lol!

Question about your Tom Waits, then...
is there a lot of bad language in his music? Hate to sound stuffy, but I try to avoid it... it gets in the way,you know.
At any rate, thanks very for the tip...

Hm. that's a good question:) lol! i don't remember if he curses or not. i will find a link for you so you can go to it and hear it. its ok if you don't like bad language. Hopefully Tom Waits doesn't have it because he has some funny stuff:) I'll go and check now for a song and get right back to you:)
