There was an old man called Palin,
Whose "Msg from Michael" was flailin',
Please update the web,
Before I reach a low ebb,
And I'll promise to stop bitchin' and wailin'.

There once was a poster called 'space',
Who thought that their rantings were 'ace'
They really were crap,
They should cut to the wrap,
Or maybe just sit on my face.

There once was a man called Mikey
Who traveled as much as a pikey
He forgot all his fans
and drove in Hi-Ace vans
Is Mikey a Pikey? Oh Crikey!

Re: Limerick by Loretto on 24 March 2010 2:01pm

Is pikey a bad word, in Ireland we call travelers knackers and it is a put down. I'll remove it if people are insulted.

Re: Limerick by johnnythemonkey on 24 March 2010 3:07pm

Simple answer Loretto ? Ask a pikey.

I watched a telly show recently about the over the top weddings that travellers have. I think it was called " My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. "
Anyway....
There was a guy featured on it ( about my age,52). He had arms on him like Popeye on steroids.
He said that he could accept any insult.... but call him a pikey.........

My friend from secondary school now lives in London, and she was here with us for a week, she told me about that show! You can call me a thick mick,a dumb paddy whatever but don't call me a pikey! I think I like pikey better!

Loretto, you should see the dresses that these girls wear, each one more ridiculous than the previous bride.
They seem to think that they can be Cinderella and actually get driven through their council estates in glass carriages !
Each to their own I suppose.

Loretto: it gives a rather novel meaning to the phrase: "ready for the knackers yard",eh?
I assume the only people who might be insulted are Irish knackers themselves!
