MP - What A Wonderful Life. by AdobeFlats on 13 August 2010 9:16am

Hello there. Haven't posted in the Intro section, because very few people ever return there once they've posted twice.
Have just finished the 2nd diaries 80-88, and am now going to re-read the 1st diaries. In fact, I hope at some stage that the Editors of the Diaries bring out fuller versions, say 1980-85 etc, it's frustrating to see a run of several days together, and then a whole month is missed!
I remember watching the 1st series of MPFC (a Sunday night as I recall), going to the cinema to watch 'Holy Grail' & 'Blazing Saddles' as a double-bill, having to cross the path of cardboard-carrying protesters to watch 'Life of Brian'.
Have read 'Hemingway's Chair', own the DVD 'East of Ipswich', and also various bits of Handmade Films output: Privates on Parade, The Missionary etc.
Have only intermittently seen episodes of MP's journeys, but have read a couple of the books.
All in all, MP & Pink Floyd have provided a soundtrack to my days on Earth. 8-)

Hi, there! Welcome to Palin's Travels. Nice name, BTW! Please watch more of Michaels travels; they are fascinating, they are what got me into Michael in the first place.

Hello ALL and thanks for the welcome! I'm from the VERY rainy UK. I managed to dig out two of MP's travel DVDs last evening: 'Ancient Mariners(?)-80dys' & 'Shifting Sands - PTP'. Both, fascinating and informative viewing. A thought struck me: Why don't ALL the African Governmemnts chip in with cash (Or Libya & South Africa pay for it themselves), and build a 6-lane Motorway (Highway/Freeway etc), like the empty one in Saudi, straight down the length of Africa?
Any thoughts?

Well, since you're in the UK, you absolutely must explain your screen name. Adobe is not much in evidence in the UK. (I thought you would be one of my compatriots in the North American Southwest.)

The Intro Section is used by new people to MOSTLY introduce themselves with things like their REAL first name, email (if they wish), age, residence and birthday. Once I gather at least 3 pieces of that information you can post to whichever other thread seems most appropriate for your subject matter. "Intro" helps to weed out all the vital details so you can be placed on the VITALS LIst for reference. Otherwise, I have to read every single thread, which I have no time for anymore.
Also, you can use intro for basic things you wish members might find interesting about yourself.
