Who Do You Think You Are? by Loretto on 30 March 2011 1:37am

I don't know if they are showing this in UK, Canada Australia or elsewhere outside the US, but it is a great show. Steve Buschemi was on last week and it was heart wrenching, I have to say.

Each time I watch it though I am reminded of how close Michael Palin came to being the pilot episode of Who Do You Think You Are? when he was trying to find out more about his great grandmother Brita Gallagher during the rail journey through Ireland. He was doing pretty much what the celebrities on this show are doing.

Anyway, here's a clip with Kim Cattrell, the Steve Buschemi one is not up on you tube.

I saw the Kim Cattrall one. That was an interesting one - some are more interesting than others. One good one a few years ago was seeing Jeremy Paxman reduced to tears!

I seen the Jeremy Paxman one. It was moving at times.

I love the show. The David Mitchell one was really good, great ending and the Kim Cattrall ep was fascinating. It's a really rivetting show.

I watched the Stephen Fry one online, really sad. I have to watch the rest of the Graham Norton one. He was so irreverent and funny at the start of the episode making comments about his grandfather's pose in an old picture!

So bad and yet so good!

Also just watched a clip of the Bill Oddie one, he's right; some people are just very unlucky. It seems his grandmother made his mother's life miserable. Very sad.

Loretto, I agree, it is a great show. All of the episodes has some sort of quirk in the families.

I'd love to meet a family that doesn't have a quirk to them, no I take that back Mister Mike, that family would be boring.....and that family simply doesn't exist.

They should do this program with the formers Monty Pythons! ^^ It is interesting as I discovered it while living in London! They (we) do not do it yet in France, even we suggest it in our last meeting (as I am working in FRench TV for the moment and judging all kind of reality show and this program is like one -even it is a film montage- because it is showing a true part of the life of a celebrity or not).
