You will no doubt have seen (in the UK at least)that the above company is in receivership.

We have used this company on many occasions - they are part of the Turkish Company Onur Air, and USED to be good value. You could until last year (or maybe the year before) still get 'extra leg room seats' for free just by asking for them, etc and we have flown for £89 return each before.

Their system was that the sooner you booked your flight after they went for sale online the cheaper they would be, so we would log on to their site the same day!

Then they started to go down hill (sorry if that is a pun!). Each time we booked a flight because it was a time and date that suited us, approx 2 months before the flight it would be changed by as much as 9 hours. This happened several times, and not just to us, either. This was very irritating as you can imagine.

We have also been 'bumped off' a flight, being told that that particular flight wasn't going and getting to the airport to find that it WAS still going. We complained as we must have been amongst the first to book the flight.

Last year we booked particular seats which was dealt with by another company, but under the umbrella of Onur Air. When we got to the airport to come back, we lingered until the last moment to join the queue - no need to rush, we said, as we know we've good seats. When we checked in, and given rubbish seats we complained, but our seats had been given to someone else!! This had happened to someone else too, we found out on the plane. We did get our money back from the company involved, but no apology from Onur Air, who said it wasn't their fault. Pah!!!

A couple of months before we flew out to Turkey in June this year, we were told that the flight we were booked on had been taken off and were given the option of booking another flight with them or our mnney back. As we'd decided we would never fly with them until hell freezes over as by then we were thoroughly fed up with Onur Air, we jumped at the chance to have our money back, and re-booked with Thomas Cook.

I feel desperately sorry for people who have flights booked with this company, but to be honest, Zak and I were not surprised at the news as their service over the past couple of years at least has been atrocious.

Just found out that one of our fellow apartment owners is in Turkey now, having booked with Aegean!! He doesn't sound too worried though!
