Two new Giant Pandas at Edinburgh Zoo by Ken Dunn on 9 December 2011 9:31am

Having seen the topic on the gorilla at Stuttgart I thought that this one was worth a mention too. They are not on view to the public yet but will be in about 10 days. The First Minister of Scotland (Alex Salmond) went to China on a trade mission recently and one of our Scottish newspapers last Sunday said it was a good 2 for 1 swop!

I adore pandas. It's so sad that they are almost extinct. They are my favourite wild animal.

LOL.....2 pandas for a First Minister....Fair Trade Agreement?

I hate zoos, I really do. I think animals go crazy when they are cooped up like that. Poor things.

Pandas are an extinct species in reality. They have not evolved in a survivable manner due to their restrictive diet and more importantly, their mating pattern.
They survive only due to their apparent cuteness to wee women like Terry and their earning capacity for zoos and for China's much needed kudos for providing them to zoos at exorbitant costs.
