Gruesome story from 'boring' Canada. by johnnyBgood! on 5 July 2012 11:21am

I don't think a 'funny' comment would be appropriate.

See, that's why I generally don't read the news. It's mostly just a collection of stories about humanity's most depraved and psychotic behaviours, to be read by everybody over their breakfast.

It doesn't benefit anybody to read about that stuff. It's police business, and should be printed in a separate section titled 'murder'.

And the people printing those stories relish them! Because it grabs people's attention. It's designed to shock, not to inform.

I largely agree Ev but news is news, and very little news about Canada ever reaches the UK. I think loungetrekker ( Pete ) is the spokesperson for Canada !

No matter how you try to make a sensational news story sound objective, the perpetrator of this horrendous crime is a freak. Insanity? Definitely. Freedom? Not in his lifetime, we hope. Leg-irons? Solitary confinement?

The latest shock story I shouldn't have read involved the killing of a child and included a description of the sounds made. There is nothing funny about that.

I really wasn't trying to trivialise that news story Pete. It's just strange that considering Canada has so many people of Scots descent, we hear so little about your country.
