Has anyone seen the special ed. DVD yet? Very very good extras, very funny! I love how they got the pythons together for the "virtual reunion." It was a riot... MP is very funny as the lady in the middle and the end of the film as she reads out the meaning of life as if she had better things to do and that we really are twits for not knowing it anyway. My parents are catholics and only have three children. The rest they sold off to Smith-Klein for mange experimental treatments (23 kids in total with 2 conjoined twins).

To be honest, and maybe it was the mood I was in when I saw it, but I've never thought that "Life of Brian" was as good as most fans (or the Pythons themselves) seem to think. It's got good scenes, but there's too much of "it's ironic so therefore it's funny", more reliance on shock (although not as much as in Meaning of Life), and some of the humor is just, well, uninspired. But, for me, the biggest problem is that they try to stretch a story over sketches, so that the story isn't well fleshed out in places. "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" is a smaller film, less ambitious, so I think it's more successful in it's modest goals- start the sketch, work it out to it's conclusion, and move on to the next thing. I also think that it's closer to the spirit of the TV show, which, after all, is what got me interested in Monty Python in the first place. It's the type of humor I wanted to see. -David
