JAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by peripatetically on 16 April 2004 8:09pm
Jake, my man!!! Are you back yet? I expect a full detailed account of your vacation in Florida! Right now, I have no email or computer. Am using one in the library today. So, as soon as I get my service back, I'll be anxiously awaiting a report.

Love ya,

Hi all! how is everyone?

I had a great time in the sunny state with my good pals mickey and minnie, you may have heard of them? Anyway we visited their many parks including Disney's Magic Kingdom and at Epcot we even dined with them (along with Goofey and Chip or Dale (i dont know the difference?)).

But alas our visit had to come to an end when we visited Busch Gardens into which we found that Mickey was banned. (Something to do with a girafe and mickey mouse ears?)

Seriously now, I visited all of the major theme parks bar MGM Studios (it was raining). Epcot was definately my favorite and i relished in visiting the diffrent cultures and experiencing a piece of the 11 represented countries (not to mention the 65 mph roller coaster and space simulator). Mission: Space, is in my opinion the best ride not only in Disney, not only in Florida, but in the whole world (of course I havent ridden every ride in the world so cant really say, but meh.)You sit back in your space ship and are launched to Mars via the moon. The views are amazingly realistic, as are the g-forces which tighten your face and actually prevent you from moving your limbs (a sick bag is provided).

The Magic Kingdom proves that Disney really does know how to make brilliant rides - with the three mountains dominating not only the landscape - Space Mountain, Thunder mountain and Splash Moutain.

We were extremely lucky in getting to ride the new Revenge of the Mummy at Universal studios which was AMAZING. The outstanding effects and thrilling rides made for a great experience. But as i say we were lucky to get on because the ride wasnt actually open and it was the first day of testing on the day we were there!

We were also lucky in meeting up with our family and experiencing some of the coaster-less Florida - the real Florida. We drove the boringly long journey to the Florida Keys with a detour in the Everglades. Here we rode on an air boat and got up close and personal with some gators.

Anyway, Florida was a really fun holiday and one that i would recommend to families. However i dont know how young you have to be to really get into the whole experience...although i certainly did - my mickey mouse ears have barely left my head since I got back. (i am, of course, joking...you hope)

Thanks for all your advice and help patty! :) It helped a lot.

Cheers for reading all, if you still are of course.

Sounds like your trip was loads of fun, Jake. Glad my info helped you some. Did you manage to see any of the night time spectaculars at any of the Disney parks? It's a real shame you missed "Fantasmic" at MGM, as I presume it was still raining then too. That is quite a spectacular night time event. Also, "Wishes" at Magic Kingdon is a wonderfully presented show loved by all. (And particularly nostalgic for the older people who really remember when Disney was on TV every Sunday night at 7 pm.) What Disney accomplished is unbelievable and amazing, no doubt about it.

Thanks for sharing your fun, Jakie-poos!
