Airport dilemma by Tibetan sunset on 23 April 2004 6:47pm
By this time next year, there will be a fully operational international airport 2 miles from my house. The runway lines up with my village. This is great for the area generally but I'm not sure I can live so close to the noise, the pollution etc. Does anyone here live very close to an airport and if so does it bother you?

I`m 3 miles from Heathrow. Having lived here for ages, the plane noise doesn`t really impinge. All I ever really noticed was Concorde twice a day!
Where are you, TS, what airport is this?

Thanks Lou. It is the as yet unamed Doncaster airport on the old air base at Finningley.I live just two miles south of it. Guess I'll just have to wait and see really.

They're building an airport at Doncaster ?
What's it called, Jeremy Clarkson International Airport ?
I can imagine all the inhabitants of South Yorkshire pointing to the skies and saying :
"Look at the huge flying metal bird"
"Where has it come from ?"
