for izot , tumours and twice lucky . by irishmanufan on 1 September 2004 10:45pm

sorry to leave you sitting around waiting for a reply of your mail . i have been in and out of hospital in the last few days over a cyst in my chest . i was in hospital today getting a mamogram and a ultrasound biopsy done and they are almost certain i have a benign tumour in my chest . like helen palin had one in her brain . quite a wopper it is too . though they have to wait for the biopsy results. the only problem is my chest is still bleeding from where they stuck the biopsy needle in as it was quite thick but the upisde is i can see inside my chest muscle . thank god i am not squemish :0)
we have also inhereted a new dog . i hope we can keep him . i went for a walk by the coast today and i saw a stray dog limping around the side of the sea . some kids told me he had been around for 3 days and as far as they knew had eaten nothing and only drank sea water . i rang my dad and the dspca who told us to take him to a local vets but as the dspca for got to call the vets to arrange pick up of the dog the vets would'nt take him in . Dad and i brought him home . our dog penny went mad . so did mom ! we thought we would keep him over night before taking him to the DSPCA pound tomrrow . well that plan fell flat on it;s arse when mom started playing with the dog and fell in love with his good nature. he is male . i called him jimmy after a family joke mom called him lucky as he was lucky to be found by me . so lucky it is . when he first came in he had a thirst you could photograph form drinking the salty sea water . he ate some food as well . he is sitting down in our porch on a thick warm blanket with plenty of food and water . he is such a good natured dog we think he was dumped or deliberatly strayed as he has no collar on but apart form the sore paw he does look like he was well looked after at one stage .
then to top all the fun it looks like i have won a small amount of money on the bookmakers version of the irish national lottery. yippeeeeee :0)
that was my day today anyway :0
cheers
Linda

thanks bruce for your kind words . don;t worry for me . 3 doctors have said they don;t think it is suspicious . my g.p , the breast specialist and the doctor who did my biopsy . of course they have to wait until the result of the biopsy confirm this ! the worst that will happen is i will have to spend 24 hours in hospital getting the bloomin thing removed :0)
cheers
Linda

thanks everyone . your words have been a great suport . think of me on monday 11-00 irish time when i go in to get my biopsy results . i have to see the breast nurse and the breast speciaist. as i said though none of them suspect that the tumour is cancerous . also my mother has had breast cancer and i have been treated differently to how she was treated .
it looks like we won't be keeping lucky either . he had a little spat with our dog penny over food . if we can;t keep the 2 of them together we can't keep lucky . it is unfair to have him out all the time while penny is in and vice versa although penny is happy sitting on the driveway during the day . however she barkes so much it would drive you mad . we think lucky is fairly young and he jumped around penny in play which upset her as penny is very old . we are taking him to our vet mr treanor tomrrow to get the sore paw checked out and will see what he says . he does have 2 very impressice holes in his paw pad . no wonder he can;t walk on it . he is a sweet natured dog . we had him in the house this evening , in my parents tv room , and inbetween sitting around he jummped up with his two front paws on the sofa and licked mom and dad . he sat on command for me as well so someone has trained him . then he ran upstairs and it took me ages to get him down . he loves his cheddar cheese as well . just like penny :0) he is acting more like the puppy we think he is now . playing and running about .
izot i don't have time to do your mail this evening . real life gets in the way again . i will talk to you tommrrow evening . i bought lucky a lovely leather collar today too as i hate the choke chain collar the vet gave me yesterday .
cheers
Linda

Take your time. I can wait. There are more pressing issues for you at hand at the moment.
