'Life of Michael' by Miss-M on 10 January 2003 12:02pm

I just finished reading LIFE OF MICHAEL by Jeremy Novick - I enjoyed the various anecdotes by and about Michael, not to mention the great pictures! I'm sure there are several people on this list who've also read the book and was wondering what others thought of it?

Michelle :)

Michelle,
I loved it! It was insightful and funny. And the pics were quite lovely.

When did LIFE OF MICHAEL come out?I haven't heard a word about it but thats probably just cause I'm from I reland and we never know what is released. I wouldn't be a bit suprised if it is out for years!!I would be very grateful to anyone with information. Thank you.

It came out in September 2001. Check this link for it on amazon.co.uk: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0747235295/qid=1042253187/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_2_1/202-8256063-4022252

Silly me, I clicked that link for Amazon.co.uk, realizing seconds later that the UK one won't help this American. ;O)

Thanks for the info, though, I think I might look into ordering it! (I've already got "American Friends" in my shopping basket so I may as well add something to it...)

Hm. After a perusal of Amazon.com, I've only been able to find Jonathan' Margolis' Michael bio, and - from what I've heard - I'd much rather get Jeremy Novick's book.

Any clues on this? Is "Life of Michael" not available on Amazon or am I just completely and utterly blind???

Hello Mary,

I did a search and wasn't able to find LIFE OF MICHAEL for sale on Amazon either. I'm not sure what major bookstores you have in America but I purchased my copy from Angus and Robertson - most of the major stores here in Oz seem to sell the book. Best of luck in finding a copy :)

Michelle

P.S. Look forward to hearing your opinion of AMERICAN FRIENDS!

Yep, I agree the Novick book was far superior to the Margolis offering.

At least Michael was interviewed formally for the 'Novick'and was able to comment directly, rather than a book made up from past mag and newspaper articles and more of a 'tabloid' angle (Margolis).

Hiya Mary, call me stupid!!?? (I know I'm asking for it with that one!! :-}} )
But why can't you US Palinites order books from the UK amazon??

Ellen (bracing herself for the rebuttle..... :-}} Be gentle with me Mary, please..... :-}}} )
