Letters from Michael by LeeQuick on 18 February 2003 4:55am

I have a personal letter from MP dated March 1984.
I'm curious: how many people have received a handwritten letter from Michael, and when? If you'd be kind enough to include brief quotes from your letter, I'd be interested to read them.
thanks, Lisa Chaney Quick

Wow, a whole letter LeeQuick? Tell us about it!!!

Well, I sent him a letter about 9 months prior (I don't remember what I said, because I didn't keep a copy). His letter starts, "Sorry to be so long in replying but I've been up to my eye-balls in work." (I found out later he had been filming Brazil.) Then he said he liked my letter very much and has passed it on to the Python office (they very kindly sent me a packet full of Python bios, photos, and --get this -- a photo of all six from Life of Brian, hand-signed by each!)
Needless to say I have the signed photo and Michael's letter framed above my desk.

*chuckles* Fasinating LeeQuick... You're one of the lucky Palin fans I can tell you. Was his handwritting all squiglly like they are in the travel books?

Re: Letters from Michael by LeeQuick on 19 February 2003 5:09am

actually, his writing is a bit "squiggly" as you say, but looks like he made an effort to be legible. Maybe I should try to scan it and put it on my website...
surely someone else out there has a letter, too? I guess they're just not on the web...

Heh heh.

In some of Michael's books there are pictures of postcards he wrote, and every once in awhile I try to read one, only to realize about half-way through that I absolute cannot decipher his handwriting much of the time. ;O) But he's got neat writing, though, I like the style. Now if only I could read it...

I hope your letter was indeed more legible, Lee. ;O)
