4th of July by intrepid on 5 July 2005 5:05pm

Banh-Banh dana danh, dana dah

That, in case you can't tell, is my typed rendition of "the Stars and Stripes Forever". Hope that those who celebrated the 4th had a pleasant weekend with good weather and sensible drivers on the highways.

Congratulations, you got your independence from Britain...now can we have OUR independence from America please i.e. McDonalds, Coca Cola, KFC, mindless soaps, Hollywood drivel, caring a damn about what Brad and Angelline do or whether Paris Hilton has had another implant, and following blindly into idiot wars for no good reason.
Greetings anyway from Airstrip One and I hope you had a relaxed day.

didn't get chance, was working, then had to have a tooth out yesterday.

Thanks. I'm sure John Philip Sousa would be proud.

Well, it was blazing hot and dry here in Texas, as it usually is this time of year. I was on the highway coming home from San Antonio yesterday with a terrible hangover.

Paris Hilton? If she's had implants, she needs to go up another size or two.

I got to spend some time swimming and sitting out by the pool which was very nice, and I went to a movie, but I was very disappointed. I had a date on Saturday night that I thought went very well, and we had planned to get together yesterday. He never called
:( Why do guys do that??

Re: 4th of July by George on 6 July 2005 6:57pm

I'm sorry the guy didn't call you back. A lot of guys are just as nutty as some girls. Please don't take it personally. That's the worst thing. As the saying goes, "life is too short".

In the American Revolution, friends and family members were divided between those loyal to Crown and those loyal to the revolution. One in every four colonists lost their lives - 25% of the population dead by the time it was over.

Yet America is now, and has been, ally and friend and mutual admirer with the British.

I never have understood these centuries-long and millenia-long grudge wars that go on around the world.

To my countrymen - Happy Independence Day! To the British - WE LOVE YOU! SEND MORE TV SHOWS!! - Cori

On the 4th I should have been at Rudyard's Pub here in Houston, where after a lengthy round of insults back and forth, Americans get free drinks.
