Michael Palin and the mystery of Hammershoi by julwis on 5 July 2005 7:43pm

I saw in the new Radio Times that Michael has a new show on next week on BBC1, which he filmed in Denmark and Holland. Its on Thursday 14 July at 1035pm for an hour. The show is about the artist Hammershoi (I think thats how the name is spelt, except for the line through the 'o'). Hope this means that the other art programs that he made (apparently) a few years ago might get shown too. Im sure he made one in Paris, though Ive never seen it.

Ø - that's a Scandinavian letter, it's in my last name too - by the way :)

I'm not sure that your computer will show it the right way it's an o with a / through it :)

For all of your special character needs including Ø, £, Ö, , plus a variety of symbols and accent marks I have no use for, do a quick Google search for "special characters" which are available using the alt key + a series of numbers on your keypad. If you need to use some of them constantly, consider downloading MS Office for English-International, which then requires you to use just a couple of extra keystrokes.

I cut out all the pictures of Michael in there, then put it back on the coffee table! it looks quite funny, with some huge gaping holes in it!!

(I'm not obsessive.............)

Julwis, the previous arts progs are: "Palin on Redpath", "MP on The Colourists" & "MP and the Ladies Who Loved Matisse."

Umm, Paris features in The Colourists and possibly Matisse, however I can`t remember about the latter as I haven`t watched it for yonks.

Looking forward to it (though not necessarily Michael in only his socks: I may never want to eat a cocktail sausage again as long as I live!) and as suggested on another thread this is a good line for Michael to continue to pursue. Would love to see one on Hokusai, one of my favourite artists and best known for his various views of Mt Fuji.

Wish I could see these art programs. Generally speaking though I prefer that people leave their clothes on :) .
