Song version used in original Great Railway Journeys by rick9525 on 12 July 2005 1:22am

In the excellent original Great Railway Journeys, which I have watched many times, Michael travels to Rainhill near Liverpool for a steam event. Although he is not seen on screen the soundtrack is The Beatles And I Love Her, although I don't think it is them singing. I really would like to know who sung the version used. It is much slower than the original

Any answers would be much appreciated

The version of the episode that originally aired on PBS here in the U.S. had the Beatles version of the song. I suspect that the BBC couldn't get the rights (or didn't want to pay the high royalties) to use it when they released it on home video, so they substituted another version, likely some studio musicians, as a cost savings.
