The palinstravels.co.uk Awards 2005 by kristinekm on 5 August 2005 12:45am

Well, I thought it could be enjoyable if we (the Palinites) made *drum roll* The palinstravels.co.uk Awards…

I have been thinking about some categories, which resulted in the following:

If this shall be of any fun please exclude MP (as we all know he’s the all time greatest)

Best Actor 2
Best Actress
Best Film 2
Best Comedy 3
Best Drama
Best Crime Story 2
Best TV Series 3
Best Travel Programme/Series 1
Best Singer (male)2
Best Singer (female)
Best Band (unisex)1
Best Song 1
Best Writer 2
Best Book 3
Best line from a film
Best worst line from a film
Best pick up line
Best comic performance by a politician 1

If you can come up with more categories please do.

If you show any interest in this I will make a post with the winners of The palinstravels.co.uk Awards.

Ready, steady, vote...

By the way I will ad a number after the categories to show the numers of votes casted.

WHEN I WROTE THAT YOU SHOULD EXCLUDE MP I HADN'T COME UP WITH THE TRAVEL PROGRAMME CATEGORY! PLEASE DO VOTE FOR HIS PROGRAMMES, it can be fun to see which you will find the best.
What I meant was MP as the best actor...

Oooh, is this like the PT version of the Oscars or something?
That said, can we have some silly catergories?

How about these categories:

Best worst line from a film
Best comic performance by a politician

Well I'd have to vote for "Around The World In Farty Haze" as the best book, obviously!

Obviously :)

So this is meant to be for 2005 and NOT "all-time"? Is that correct?

I would assume it is only for 2005. But then why is the Flying Circus mentioned. Hmmm. I don't know.

I thought all Palinites would agree on the Flying Circus as the best series, but perhaps I'm wrong... there are of course some people who caught Palinitis by watching the travel programmes.

As you will see I have now deleted the bit about the circus.

As for 2005, it was just a title - well, award shows are often held once a year...

I will include all new categories in my original post.

I think the category list is a bit long so if we only vote in the categories where we have a definite favourite then that will make he voting easier.

BEST TRAVEL PROGRAM! (Cori thrusts her elbow into Kristine's ribs)

Best Singer (Male) - Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day

Best Band (Unisex) tie - U2 / Coldplay

Best Comedy - Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy

Best Film - ((The Brothers Grimm has yet to be released so we have to hold off on this one))

Best TV Series - Battlestar Gallactica
***********Are you guys getting Battlestar Gallactica (SciFi Ch.) in the UK / Europe / anywhere else? It is fracking fantastic. Production quality, story lines, the sense of tragedy (both sides in the human conflict are right & about to go to war), the sense of paranoia and claustraphobia, the ACTING! The British actor James Callis (playing Dr. Gaius) should get an award. Absolutely totally. Probably won't be considered because it's a sci fi program.

Best Comic...Politician - well, that goes without saying.

Best Actor - Russell Crowe. No matter what else there is to say about him, he is arguably the best actor of our time.

Best Crime Story [AMERICAN] - all the CSI's / Law & Order & SVU
