Terry Jones Crusades. by tucsonmike on 13 December 2005 3:29am

Yes, I understand it isn't Mr. P. I had a coupon so I bought the DVD. The other half will consider it a tax write off and call it research. I missed some of it when it was first on. I was glad to see the better color and contrast on the DVD.

I was willing to learn something about a topic I sort of covered in school. If you are raised Jewish, you just learn it was a time when the Jews were used for target practice, especially in Germany.

Terry Jones does a great job showing how it all happened and came together. Tony Robinson (Baldrick in Blackadder) does a series called Worst Jobs, because he is a history buff. I wonder if there are more, the two I saw were the Georgian and Victorian eras. The Crusades is in the same vein as worst jobs. It's amusing to watch Terry Jones march in armor in the summer of Eastern Turkey. (Mad dogs and Englishmen). All because the Emperor Alexis of Byzantium sent a letter to Pope Urban. He won't make THAT mistake again!:-)

Great series. Glad Borders had it. I love Borders and their coupons.

'Crusades is great. I'm in that pigpen us witty people call a-waste-of-time-because-you-don't-learn-anything-whatsoever-but-instead-are-surrounded-by-idiotic-moronic-another-degrating-word-so-called-professors-who-don't-know-their-ass-from-their-ear-old-had-to-much-acid-in-the-sixties-type-chaps-who-instead-of-teaching-you-drone-on-about-how-Che-Guevara-and-Mao-were-wonderful-revolutionaries-even-though-they-were-complete-prats.
Also known as High School. See college.

Anyhoodles, I digress. I haven't learned anything in "Global Studies/History" except that Woodstock "was, like, so richeous, man", so Crusades and Medieval Lives(my personal choice)is a televised blessing.
