Time Bandits by Samoan Sam on 18 October 2002 12:03am

Just bought Time Bandits on DVD. Didnt realise Michael co-wrote it with the greatest film director in the world Terry Gilliam. Very witty and a great family movie, definately worth viewing.(also check out Jabbawocky - starring Michael "what the inventor of the inverted furkin?!!")

I want to see that, my friend said it
terrified her because horses ran through the walls, but I think I can probably stand that. I didn't know Michael co-wrote it either...

Michael Palin says one of the funniest lines in that movie. I won't say what it is, because I don't want to ruin the glorious joy of hearing it for the first time.

A fantastic movie...

I downloaded this movie a couple months ago and saw it for the first time since I lost my original copy of it in a house fire in '95. Great movie! The fact they had one of my favorite actors in it (Sean Connery) is a bonus. Been a MP fan since at least '78 (when I was 8 years old) and just found this site. I still long for a Python reunion with the surviving members, but I won't put any pressure on that. Love ya Micheal, good luck with your site.

His famous line? Next to the tree? Sometimes I feel the same way! Genius cast, genius director. Chk "Dreams, the Terry Gilliam Fanzine" for more re TG. And Michael did some genius work with Ripping Yarns - watch and read `em! I've been, once again, going through ALL the old Python work - and it's really some groundbreaking, genius stuff. Keep up the fine work, Michael. And good job not corpsing with the chips up your nose in Wanda. Thanks!

The chips up his nose must have hurt! It's funny when you see ketchup on it in one scene and then in other scenes there are more or less and...I'm sorry, I realize the weirdest things...

...funny line...funny line...gosh, has it really been so long since I've seen "Time Bandits" that I can't recall what line you're referring to?

*sigh*

I also haven't seen "Wanda" in ages.
Perhaps I should. It's at the infamous library... ;O)

To Danyll

Sorry mate, I went to a After Dinner Talk by Michael and he was asked if there would be a reunion. His answer was no. He said the only point in doing anything again was if you could make it as good or better and it could never be as good without all the members.

Alright Mates, at the risk of offending Sam from October - "Fruit! I need fruit!" Or something like that. It has been a couple days since I saw it last. Michael is brilliant here again at carrying along the main character, strongly, throughout. Sam I'll owe you a pint or some Whizzo Chocolates when you're in the USA. Carry On Laughing, all. :)
