PAKISTAN VISA ON BORDER????? by saraphine8 on 8 June 2006 10:59am
Hi, Does anyone know for sure if its possible to get a Pakistan visa at the pakistan/China border (Kunjerab Pass)??
I have a british passport so should be ok, but my friend is Indian, anyone know where i can find out if its possible?

That is a gamble you may be willing to take in 'theory'. But once you get there and they order you to go all the way back to Beijing (a journey of several days) and get a visa after all those rough roads and train rides, it won't be as appealing anymore. Infact, they will be pretty pissed off that you will have just arrived and somehow assumed you can get into a country with nothing. Pakistan stopped issuing such "Oh, go on then" visas several years back for the most part. Transit visas of a few days used to be issued occasionally for some travellers. Full visas never were. Nowadays, security is even more tight and it's a massive risk going there and assuming they'll let you through just because you are British. Best to play safe and get yourselves a visa beforehand. Trying that gamble with an Indian, is doomed for it to fail (IMO).
