Why is there so few people in the chatroom?

It seems to go in waves. Sometimes there's a bunch of people in there everytime I look for a week and then no one for a week or two. Dunno why - the weather???

The World Cup has taken a little of my time and sometimes I need a rest but I have an idea which I think may have been put forward before.
When you come into the internet, log straight into the chatroom and minimise the box while you do your other computer things. Occasionally maximise the chatroom box and if everyone is patient for the few minutes then a chat could be more possible in the room.
Also remember timezones because recently I was up at 2am GMT and found two other overseas palinites in the room for a chat.
I've been trying this technique while writing this so I must go and bring forward the timezones thread.
Sorry, I can't find the timezones thread.
