What movies have you seen recently? by Ellerd on 20 October 2006 12:51am

I rented out the Da Vinci code on DVD the other day. Despite the negative reviews, I didn't think it was too bad a movie.

Hiya, I have yet to see Da Vinci code. I am slightly hesitant to watch it as personally I feel completely let down by the casting of Tom Hanks as professor Robert Langdon!!!! I would have preferred Dan Cruickshank to play this role. My reasons for this are....i've had too much tea.

Ruth.

I saw The Da Vinci Code at the movies before I read the book, so I didn't go into the movie with any preconceived ideas or expectations. Ultimately, I have to say the book is better than the film but that's usually the case, isn't it?

I saw The Devil Wears Prada too, Soph. Now I've got the book to read, hehe!

I've read the Da Vinci code and am dying to see the DVD despite it's dire reviews. I somethimes think that people have such high expectations of films these days that they rarely live up to people's expectations any more, well not the critic's expectations anyway!

I saw The History Boys on Wednesday night. It was excellent - I have never seen the play though. Alan Bennett was interviewed beforehand and there was a Q&A session.

I also saw The Queen a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't sure if I would like it but Helen Mirren was great.

I haven't seen The Da Vinci Code yet but I have read the book.

Without exception, everybody I've talked to who's seen the Da Vinci Code told me it was slightly better than they expected.

^^"Without exception, everybody I've talked to who's seen the Da Vinci Code told me it was slightly better than they expected."

That's cause we all expected it to be crappy. When it was screened at the Cannes film festival, those in attendance found the ending laughable. How rude!

Jeepers Creepers 2 was on TV last night. It was funny - though I doubt it was intended to be...
