The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Spamalot etiquette by Clare on 13 February 2007 9:38pm
I'm planning ahead a little but in just over a months time I'm going to see Spamalot in London and I'm already trying to decide what to take. I really want to take my coconuts (they always come with me to Scotland incase we end up near Doune Castle). Has anyone else been, do you think I'll be thrown out of the theatre if I play with them throughout the performance???!!!

I'd rather hear the clomping of coconuts than someone's mobile going off... I say bring 'em and see how the audience is that night. You should at least be able to freely clomp them at the encore, which turns into a sing-along.

Doesn't matter, cause you can buy the coconuts for a fiver! I've seen it twice and I never heard anyone playing them... I suppose if you find appropriate places to play then it'll be ok. It's a shame you won't see Tim Curry.
The first time I went I went on my own and got the really expensive seats, about 2 days after it opened, and while queueing outside, there were loads of people in Tux's and evening dresses, and I was wearing jeans and Kicker boots... I was so worried but just turned out it was some charity fundraiser. I would say keep an eye out cause if there is another I don't think they'd take too kindly to it!
Anyway, enjoy yourself!

If they won't let you play your coconuts, you can eat 'em intsead of buying popcorn!
