Karen – you are a bit of a dag! Kath and Karen are right, we call them Chilly Bins over here in Aotearoa. Mine is chocka with chocolate fish, fizzy drinks, ice blocks, Kiwifruit, L&P, Marmite, mountain oysters, pikelets, savs, a pav and of course we couldn’t forget fish and chips. I came back from Eketahuna yesterday, with the chilly bin and will be taking it and all the kai with me tomorrow to Waikikamukau to a hangi. On the trip home from Eketahuna, I gave a pakeha bloke a ride home out some where in the wops-wops. He had been on a tiki-tour in his togs, sunnies and jandals and he was whinging about how cold his toes were. Crickey dick, did he look stuffed. I told him if your brains were barbed wire you couldn't fence a dunny because he had been carrying his gumboots with him, but did not wear them. Boy was he ever rough as guts! He soon put on his jersey though and was not as cold, although it made no difference to his feet. I had a hottie in the boot and filled it up with spare hot water I had in the flask and gave it to him to warm himself up. He really needed a duvet to keep him warm. When I dropped him off he told me he was Tom Cruise I told him to get off the grass. The bloke forgot to close the door and I yelled out asking if he was born in a tent. He yelled back, “bite your bum”. Very charming I thought. He was a hard case. It was hosing down on the rest of my trip home and I almost had a prang.

I better get my a into g and start cooking dinner.

Tata!

(Heaps of Kiwi slang put in the message above)

Dianne - sounds like a lot of New Zealand slang is similar to Queensland slang. Though you guys say it with a funny accent!!

Too cold to have my togs on today!
