Re: Back Pain by Ken Dunn on 12 August 2008 9:54pm

I did my first strenuous exercise in 3 weeks today and although there is some discomfort in my back the spasms have subsided.
The treatment started with painkillers and muscle relaxants then physiotherapy with exercises similar to yours L T.
Coming off the painkillers and muscle relaxants during physio I have also used a TENS machine and finally a hot water bottle at the affected area.
I reckon I'll be fully fit again in less than a week.
Hooray!

I feel back 'pain' daily unless I took a muscle relaxant in the night. Every morning when I crawl out of bed. An hour and/or doing my exercises and I feel like (maybe) doing something strenuous.

Atta boy Ken!

Hope you have it under control, ken. I take pain meds around the clock for my back and neck and shoulders, knees, etc. it's mostly all due to spinal problems, so I know your pain.

Oh well done Ken hope you have success with it!

I too suffer from back pain, have done since I was a teenager, my lower back locks up and pain shoots through my hips, it's not pleasant. I also suffer from scatica. What a pack of old crocks we are!!!! Keeping moving is the way to go, all you can do really!

Thanks for your comments folks. After another busy day the discomfort is reduced and the physio reps don't hurt. Still improving more. I have another physiotherapist check on Monday for further progress.
