I sincerely echo everyone's sentiments, Cori, and hope for a safe return.

I amend my comment - I don't want ANYONE'S little boy or girl to get a boo-boo.

Very worrying. My thoughts are with you and your son, Cori!

The light of God surrounds you
The love of God enfolds you
The power of God protects you
The presence of God is with you.

Wherever you are, God is, and all is well...the Unity Prayer of Protection

Angels are with you and your son, and so are we, dear Cori!

4/28 updt: Found out yesterday he'll NOT be deploying til June (but still deploying). No reason given. No waterboard needed, this is torture!

4/29 updt: [email protected]%!!~ING-LIEVABLE.

As of 2 hours ago, and this could change AGAIN, my son is NOT going to be deployed ANYWHERE. He's staying in Ramstein. This is FABULOUS FANTASTIC news, and I don't trust it, so I'm not allowing myself to celebrate yet. It's a rollercoaster.

Thank [insert god name here] he's not a stupid naive kid (well, not anymore!) and he took his "case" to the main Deployment Office. In doing so, he did NOT technically go over the heads of his commanding officers - BTW they didn't want him to go either.

He made an unemotional case that, based on all rules, regs, procedures and protocols as he understands them, it would be a mistake to deploy him. Turns out he's right. The combination of his rank and career field make him unqualified.

But like I said, stay tuned tomorrow! THANK YOU, everyone, for letting me vent. This is a good, quasi-anonymous place where I may discuss his situation and my feelings about it, without compromising my son's career or any kind of security crap he has to deal with.
