Yeah, I mean, on the cuteness scale, Mr. Forte's ok, I'm not saying he's cute like MP, but as I watch him "act" on the show, I think he could do the persona. Not sure about the voice.

Now THAT'S an important aspect of MP. Who could do that voice?!

Here's a thought.
Mark McKinney from Kids in the Hall... very vocally versatile, funny as hell and cute as the dickens.
AND HE HAS DIMPLES.
VERY important.

and no I don't think Mark's too old.
:)
what a talented and handsome bugger. Only the best can play our MP.

How about MP in extensive make-up? I guess that would be "the" only way of getting the perfect MP.

'Cos he is. =D

Here, Gwen, I dragged this up here to recent...

Whew, I need to take a break...these threads are heavy!

8-)

...and WHO IN THE WORLD could play John Cleese?!?!

Oh, I forgot. The obvious. Kevin Spacey. He can play anything.

But then you've got another problem. The other actors would have to act in a ditch...

Re: Walk like a Python by Izot on 3 March 2004 6:52am

There's a teacher at my school, his name is John Van Hees, and he's the same height and built as cleese. He also has a moustache, and walks funny.

Should I? lol, but he has an Australian accent.

And no, the Australian people (ie Me) do NOT, I repeat, do NOT talk like the Bruces. ! =D

Hold on a minute- NO American actors please to play either Palin or Cleese. We have had enough murderous takes on our British accents (think keanu Reeves in Dracula)..Seriously it should be played by a Brit, or (at a push)an Australian..No offence to the Americans, but it would be awful to have an American playing these parts. It will take a certain type of actor to pull these roles off. Hopefully they will find an unknown for the part..
Bye yawl...

Re: Walk like a Python by Helen on 3 March 2004 1:44pm

My bloke Mark McKinney is CANADIAN... and Spacey is a capable american actor---unlike Keanu "what, dude?" Reeves. HE sucks.
But yeah, Spacey could do it...good one Cori. he would need to wear boxes on his feet though.
Martin Short as Idle? Both imps. , he's Canadian, too.. :)
Martin-- americans cringed at Reeves in Dracula too--- he was embarrassing. Sorry he had to do that. *looks skyward* why, Keanu, why??????

Re: Walk like a Python by Martin99 on 3 March 2004 2:43pm

Spacey- are you sure? Let's get this straight, you want Kevin Spacey to play John Cleese!!? It seems in America, they only put unknowns in slasher/horror movies, as they are cheap to hire. Any movie with a big budget has to have a big name..But in England things are a bit different, no big budgets, so often an unknown gets a crack of the whip.
Sometimes this is a disaster, sometimes a stroke of genius. Anyway this Python movie will bomb if it has the likes of Spacey and co in it..The whole etho's of Python was to make something new and fresh. To have the characters from Python played by the tired Hollywood set would be incredibly IRONIC, and would infact make us Brits laugh, but not the way the Film Makers intended..
