So pleased you're ok, Layne.

Don't let it put you off shopping, though!! ;-)

Let's hope they catch that creep!

Glad you're ok Layne. I stopped listening to personal stereo systems on the streets about a year ago. For me, it was crossing the road. Although I looked both ways etc. I did not hear the engine noise from a car which came flying round the corner. I almost stepped out in front of it. Put the willies up me!
This may stay with you for a while but will fade in time Layne. Lovely tochat the other day.

bandgeek, what can I say - you seem to have remained VERY calm and walked in the direction of safety - well done, there are so many people out there who are not as nice as they seem. It will take a long time to get over, if at all... what I mean is, you will become more aware of your personal safety. Don't be afraid to tell all your friends, both female and male of your experience - it may happen again to one of them, and by alerting them to self awareness could help them in a similar situation. We are here for you, and you did the right thing.

You know what else? This makes it even harder for truly really nice guys to meet nice females like yourself. You may not realize it but you may become more defensive or mistrusting around males, and it won't be the fault of the ones you meet in future, you know?

What a scary experience, Layne, and thank God you had your wits about you! Hope you feel OK.

How could you refuse such an offer from Mr Palin to get into his car ? (Godfather=shocked)
Re: Harassment at the mall by tucsonmike on 1 June 2006 6:55am
Godfather, they tell me I'M bad LOL!
Mike (wanting to plan a trip to Atlanta to hunt this guy down. His more logical side is stopping him).

I appreciate the concern. :-) Makes me feel all fuzzy inside. I'm feeling better now. I don't know if they caught the guy or not. I'm sort of glad that it happened. Strange, I know. But, I wouldn't know what I do now had I not experienced what I did.
Re: Harassment at the mall by bandgeek512 on 15 June 2006 2:30pm
Atlanta police have just arrested a man in the case of an abduction and rape. A girl was in the parking lot of the Mall of Georgia (a mall just 45 minutes from the mall I was harassed at). She was forcefully taken, raped, and then taken back to the parking lot. The girl was just 16 years old...

They showed a picture of the man and he looks almost exactly like the guy that asked me to get into his car. I may just be frightened and looking to see the guy that harassed me, but it looks remarkably like him. Though, the sketch showed a gold capped tooth, and I didn't get to see his teeth when he was calling out to me.

The guy showed a firearm to the girl, and then forced her into the car. I'm calling the police department to see what car he was driving and, if it's the guy, then I'm going to try to give some information. They arrested him, but I still want to see if they need anything...

I'm sort of freaked out by this. I haven't been able to find any internet reports on this because I guess it's just been reported...

This might be the guy...I'm disguested that they had to catch him after such a horrible act...
