Well, maybe a good thing will actually come out of your awful experience if you can help put this guy away if he is the same one that went after you. Keep us informed. Courage!

Yes, keep up informed and hang in there. Maybe if he is the man who harassed you, you can testify and help put him in his new accomodations, courtesy of the State of Georgia for a long time!

It also rescues me from having to go to Atlanta to find him LOL!

I hope that guy gets what he deserves!

I hope the punishments for those derranged individuals in the US is a little harsher than it is here in the UK. Someone just got 8 years for raping a 12 months(!) old girl....I would have some different ideas how to deal with him.....

Babsy, depending on the the testimony, the jurors, Georgia law and the judge, this guy could be going away for quite a while. If he has been arrested for felonies before, that will up the ante.

As Southerners would say. "That boy is in a heap of trouble."

Probably going to end up calling the police about it. I have thought about it and asked a few people about what I should do. I'll call on Monday, if I don't lose this bravery by then.

I talked to some of my friends who have mixed feelings. Some say just leave it alone, don't call because he's already been caught. Then again, others say to call and see what I can do to get this guy what he deserves. My boss (and friend) says, very avidly, that I need to call the police. He went insane when I told him about this: yelling about sick guys who have nothing better to do than harass and hurt teenage girls.

I might call. After talking to him, I'm pretty convinced.

Stupid double posting :-P

Definitely call, Layne. If prosecutors can show that his crime was part of a "pattern", his sentence will probably be more severe and he will be kept off the streets longer. Even before trial, your evidence might be important to make sure he isn't allowed bail, or, if he is, it is done with restrictions so that he won't be able to harm anyone else. And if you come forward, it might give other victims of his the courage to come forward, some who may not have been as fortunate as you were in their encounter with him.

That's correct Layne. There is no telling how many other poor young ladies are in the shadows, because of fear, shame, etc. You were lucky. Please be compassionate and help the poor young ladies who were not as lucky. You can help in their healing process.

I've learned a lot about fate living in the Southwest. Obviously I am relieved you are so intelligent and had the gumption to get to safety. Maybe this is a sign for you to help others...
(As Bernie Williams of the New York Yankees says, "The Lord put a lot on my plate, but sometimes I wish he would not have so much faith in me.").

And I can't believe I am being this philosophical on a Sunday morning and will shut up now...

Going to my county's police headquarters tomorrow. Wish me luck! I'm nervous, but there's no turning back now. Plus, I think most of my friends would literally carry me to the police station if I chickened out.
