What Suspense Writers Discuss. by tucsonmike on 22 February 2007 5:22am

A group of suspense writers can be a scary thing. Five years ago, we were in the 6A Cafe on Cape Cod. Now the owner told us, much of her business was European and it was down because of 9/11. Now we were of no help at all! For on our way, Elaine had a story idea. Guess what we did over lunch. Hash it out! I wasn't even really writing yet. She has this as notes, but the idea was a Revolutionary War Soldier suddenly dropped in the middle of Route 6A.

We were discussing 18th Century battles, war wounds etc. The elderly couple behind us asked to be seated elsewhere.

So you can imagine what happens with a table full of suspense writers.

I'd have been longing to input, Mike but would have been polite enough (I hope) not to!!

LOL! Yes they can be a scary bunch. My father and father in law turned to me at the same time and said "don't piss her off son!"

Well, all those books and movies we enjoy so much, like "Hannibal," had to come from somewhere!

Actually, Thomas Harris consulted me when writing his "Hannibal" series.I was tempted to eat him but he tasted a little like Hubert Cumberdale....."Suit" and poo!

It is the dark side of humanity that is for sure.
