Jimmys Diner Part 2 by tucsonmike on 21 June 2007 4:05pm

Yesterday, Elizabeth did not make it to tutor me, but that is OK. Jena had a three ring circus in there. I was told I was getting Spaghetti, meatballs, and garlic toast for lunch. Well, Jena's waitress Jessie was in rare form too. Jessies Mom and Dad came in same time I did. They got Spaghetti too. Jessie came in put the plates down and stabbed the fork into the Spaghetti.

"Making sure it's dead, Jessie?"
"Next time, that fork gonna be stickin' out of your fingers."
So much for soft spoken. Now, I am helping Jena come up with ideas to save the place. Just what I need, lunch pay for lunch almost lose fingers then being asked to save the place.

A few cheap colour-copied fliers distributed? Fly-posters? Diners are a great American institution

Still working that out Linda. If it works, I want a share in the place LOL!

Actually, I wrote to one of the new shows on Food Channel. I am waiting to hear.

And how about your local radio station,Mike? Any publicity might be good publicity. I'm guessing this is a local Tucson diner?

Yes it is, Linda. I was in there today, and someone made up flyers for the local businesses. Things are looking up. If I ever run for politics here, I will use Jimmys as my clubhouse LOL!
I went over the publicity stuff for Jena and got tutored in Spanish. A productive day.

I love good old fashioned diners. I wish we had more of them here.

THAT can ALWAYS be arranged, Missy.

Good news,Mike. We have Diners here but they're really fake (the ones I've seen anyway), The real thing should be encouraged & it's good you are doing that.

Yes, where else can I go, where yesterday, I was greeted at the edge of the kitchen with, "You are getting Meat Loaf and Gravy." "May I have pepper with that?"
