China and the Olympics by tucsonmike on 2 April 2008 5:56am

I am watching this carefully. This sparked my possibly teaching a class about China again.
There is a lot to pay attention to. Even at my job...

The Chinese will be worried now that they know you are on their case Mike. I reckon they will release all political prisoners and throw an Independance celebration for Tibet.

Any thoughts on the Middle East ?

I was in China 18 months ago and what I seen then will not be seen when the Games actually start.

already the homeless and the disabled (who have to live on the streets) will be getting punted out into the countryside.

I hear China have already started closing down their factories in order to deal with the smog.

all countries going to China for the Games will be under investigation and all baggage etc. will be quietly checked you can bet anything you like on it.

as for Tibet what the Chinese have done there has been nothing short of horrendous. then again the Brits, Americans and Russians can't go taking the moral high ground when it comes to that arguement.

Boycott the London olympics I say. The hypocrisy is beyond laughable.

Very funny Johnny. Fat chance of that LOL! The time to help Tibet was the 1950's. It is too late now.

My friend has boycotted all products made in China. Which these days, is pretty much everything. She's gonna save a fortune!
